Asus ZenFone AR – World’s First Tango-enabled And Daydream Ready Phone

One of the biggest announcements to emerge from CES was the announcement of Asus smartphone – the Asus ZenFone AR. The smartphone comes packed with a number of high-profile specs and the most notable things is that, the world’s first phone which supports both platform –Tango and Daydream. A smartphone that is truly supports augmented reality AR and virtual reality VR ready.


Asus ZenFone AR Features

The ZenFone AR comes with a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1440 pixels. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and runs the latest generation Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone comes in two memory variants: 6GB of RAM or 8GB of RAM. As for its storage capacity, the unit will be able to store 32GB. There is also a MicroSD card slot that can used to expand the device storage capacity up to 256GB.

The Asus ZenFone AR will be equipped with an innovative TriCam system consisting of three rear cameras –a motion tracking, depth sensing and high resolution a 23 megapixel rear camera and on the front, an 8 megapixel camera for selfies shooter, which also capable of filming 4K video. The camera has an extra motion sensor and a third depth sensing camera. The phone will come with a 3,300mAh battery capacity and it will also support fast charging feature.

Tango-enabled & Daydream Ready

Tango is a set of sensors and computer vision software that gives the ZenFone AR the ability to understand space and motion like humans do. Tango adds motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning capabilities to the smartphone. And with virtual reality VR capabilities, users can now connect their Google Daydream View VR headsets to have the VR experience.

Asus hasn’t announced pricing details and release date of the smartphone, but it has confirmed that it will be available in the second quarter of 2017.
