Toyota is no stranger to building impressive vehicles. One of the latest examples has to be the new Avensis Touring Sports. It’s a station wagon that borrows some styling cues, technology and luxury from Lexus. For detail review, visit Auto Xpedia.
If you need a reliable workhorse, you might feel like a truck is your best bet. But, what if I told you that you don’t need anything other than a Toyota Avensis Touring Sports?
Let me share with you some of the model’s main selling points. You might get shocked when you find out just how brilliant the car is for your needs!
Excellent gas mileage
The first thing you’ll notice about the Toyota Avensis Touring Sports is how good it is on fuel! There are three engine choices available to buyers. The first is a 1.8-liter gas engine. It boasts 144 horsepower and a 0-60mph time of 10.1 seconds. For a petrol engine, it has good gas mileage credentials at 46 mpg.
The other two engines on offer are diesel units. First up is the 1.6-liter with 110 horsepower. The 0-60mph time is 0.9 seconds slower than the 1.8-liter gas engine, but it has better fuel economy at 67 mpg.
If you want a beefier diesel, there’s always the second choice in the lineup: a 2.0-liter power plant. It’s almost as powerful as the gas engine at 140 horsepower. It will get you to 60mph from a standing start in 9.2 seconds – quicker than the 1.8 petrol! The only downside is the fuel economy is a little lower than the 1.6-liter diesel at 61 mpg.
I recommend the 2.0-liter diesel for the best mix of gas mileage and performance. You can get a six-speed manual transmission for all engines. But, automatic fans can only select the 1.8-liter petrol for now.
Comfort and practicality
Get in the Toyota Avensis Touring Sports and you’ll notice that there’s plenty of cabin space. There is no issue seating the driver and four adult passengers in comfort with this car.
The trunk also offers plenty of cargo space. So, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got big suitcases or lots of groceries to transport. You’ll have no problem fitting even the most demanding of loads into the Avensis.
Trim levels
There are four trim levels on offer with the Toyota Avensis Touring Sports. At the bottom of the range is the “Active” which comes with autonomous engine braking as standard. You also get air conditioning, LED headlights and cruise control. Other standard features include electric front windows and a CD head unit with Bluetooth.
Next up is the “Business Edition”. Automatic high-beam lights and a lane-departure warning come as standard. Automatic lights and wipers make life on the road easier. Other features include a lane-departure warning system and front fog lights. A part-Alcantara upholstery raises the comfort levels in the car.
The “Business Edition Plus” has keyless entry, cornering fog lights and tinted rear windows.
The “Excel” is the range-topper. You get a better audio system, 18-inch alloy wheels and a full leather interior too.
So, in conclusion, if you want a luxurious workhorse, this car is for you!
